The Punch reports that some armed robbers who attacked two private hospitals in Okitipupa local government area of Ondo state have stolen undisclosed amount of money. The attacks which were carried out on two private hospitals in Okitipupa were said to have been carried put by the same gang last week Sunday and Monday. The robbers were said to have stormed the hospitals between 10 and 11.30pm on both days, collected the money from the nurses and others at the hospitals and beat patients who could not provide the money demanded. According to The Punch, one of the victims, who preferred anonymity, said: “The hoodlums were four in number; masked, and they came to the hospitals on motorcycles. They threatened to shoot anybody who did not cooperate with them, so all of us lied down and allowed them to carry out their operation without any hindrance.

We tried our best to call the police, but we did not succeed because they also collected our phones and other valuables.” The victims had reportedly reported the case at the police station in the town after the first attack, and they had promised to act but about 24 hours later, another attack was carried out on another hospital in the same town by the same set of people, a situation which sparked outrage. had circumvented laid down procedures of the

government’s Schools Feeding Programme,

(LGA), Ibrahim Abdullahi has been sacked for

supplying oranges and biscuits meant for school

pupils to a fruits vendor in Birning Gwari to sell

for him.

“Also, the Headmaster of L.E.A Labi, in Karji,

Kubau LGA was also sacked for collecting bribe

from a vendor who received government money

but did not cook. “Instead of returning the money

she shared it with the headmaster.

“We have also received a report that the

Kaduna South LGA loaded his car with pupils’

oranges and drove out. “The headmaster has

been suspended until investigation is concluded

and if found guilty, he will also be sacked. “The

Dr. John Suzukima of Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Hospital, who was the first to link the multiple births to a single cause, believes the young man has a rare medical condition calledspermafortis which makes his semen unusually potent.

"Clinical tests have proven that people who suffer from spermafortis have sperm counts close to a thousand times more potent and rich in spermatozoids than the average man," he explains. "This kind of semen is fairly similar to that of common water mammals, such as dolphins, manatees and seals and has properties that make it incredibly resistant to water. This condition could definitely explain what happened in this case but clinical trials and further tests would be needed to prove this theory," he told local reporters.

Turns out drinking coffee might be causing women’s breasts to shrink

Scientists believe that too much caffeine can affect the hormones in a body which have impact on women’s breasts size. So the more coffee a woman drinks, the smaller her breasts get.

Almost 300 women took part in the study. According to the results, published in the British Journal of Cancer, drinking three or more cups a day was enough to cause a smaller breast size! Furthermore, the effects of the stimulant rose for every cup drunk.

The fact is that around half of the women in the study carried a gene mutation which appeared to link coffee intake and breast volume.

“Drinking coffee can have a major effect on breast size,” said Helena Jernstrom, from Lund University in Sweden, who led the study. “Coffee-drinking women do not have to worry their breasts will shrink to nothing overnight. They will get smaller, but the breasts aren’t just going to disappear.”

She added: “However, anyone who thinks they can tell which women are coffee drinkers just from their bra measurements will be disappointed. The problem is that there are two measures for a bra, the cup size and the girth, so you wouldn’t be able to tell.”

However, the study found that a large consumption of coffee could have a positive impact on the health of the breasts, particularly it reduces the risk of breast cancer.

Four Catholic nuns die in auto crash

Four Catholic nuns have lost their lives in an accident along the Nkarasi/Alok axis of the Ikom/Ogoja highway in Cross River state, while two others who were critically injured in the crash have been rushed to undisclosed hospital.

Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari has revealed his administration had been able to plug leakages and save N2. 2 trillion through the Treasury Single Account (TSA).


Buhari revealed the reason when he spoke on the state of the economy during an interactive session with the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the supporting Syria conference in London.




The president said although the TSA was the initiative of the Goodluck Jonathan administration, the immediate past government did not make use of it.

“When we discovered that we were already in trouble, we tried to enforce the TSA. This government did not initiate it, it was the previous government, but it was so unpopular to the previous government,” he said.

“For its own reasons, it couldn’t impose it, but when we came and we found out that we were broke, we saw that this as the way to do it.

“We discovered that the NNPC had more than 45 accounts, the ministry of defence and the military had more than 70 accounts; tell me which of the accounts to trace every year. “So we enforced TSA, we said there must be TSA, and let me tell you by the end of December coming to January this year, last month we mopped up more than N2.2 trillion.”

He also revealed why his government stopped the sale of foreign exchange to bureau de change (BDC) operators.

He said the sale was stopped due to fraudulent acts perpetrated by some directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

A woman named Noela Rukundo, who was allegedly dead, shocked everyone by visiting her own funeral just few minutes before the ceremony was over.

Until her return to the venue of her burial, Rukundo’s friends and family did not know the truth behind her reported death.

It happens that five days ago, her husband, Balenga Kalala had ordered a team of hit men to kill Rukundo, his partner of 10 years.

Unfortunately for Balenga, the assassins told him they did, but they did not kill her; they even got him to pay an extra few thousand dollars for carrying out the crime.




Balenga was very shocked on seeing his supposedly dead wife return from the dead.

According to the BBC, Rukundo had met her husband 11 years earlier, right after she arrived in Australia from Burundi.

He was a recent refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and they had the same social worker at the resettlement agency that helped them get on their feet. Since Balenga already knew English, their social worker often recruited him to translate for Rukundo, who spoke Swahili.

They fell in love, moved in together in the Melbourne suburb of Kings Park, and had three children (Rukundo also had five kids from a previous relationship). She learned more about her husband’s past — he had fled a rebel army that had ransacked his village, killing his wife and young son.

She also studied more about his character, saying: “I knew he was a violent man,”Rukundo told the BBC. “But I didn’t believe he can kill me.”

However he surpassed her believes and engaged three unusually principled hit men, a helpful pastor and one incredibly gutsy woman: Rukundo herself.

How she pulled it off

BBC reports that Rukundo’s ordeal began almost exactly a year ago, when she flew from her home in Melbourne with her husband, Kalala, to attend a funeral in her native Burundi. Her stepmother had died and the service left her saddened and stressed. She retreated to her hotel room in Bujumbura, the capital, early in the evening; despondent after the events of the day, she lay down in bed. Then her husband called.

“He told me to go outside for fresh air,” she told newsmen.

But the minute Rukundo stepped out of her hotel, a man charged forward, pointing a gun right at her.

“Don’t scream,” she recalled him saying. “If you start screaming, I will shoot you. They’re going to catch me, but you? You will already be dead.”

Being terrified, she did as she was told. She was ushered into a car and blindfolded so she couldn’t see where she was being taken. After 30 or 40 minutes, the car came to a stop, and Rukundo was pushed into a building and tied to a chair.

She could hear male voices, she told the ABC. One asked her, “You woman, what did you do for this man to pay us to kill you?”

“What are you talking about?” Rukundo demanded.

They said to her: “Balenga sent us to kill you,” but she told them they were lying and they laughed at her ignorance.


They told her how foolishly in love she had been, then there was the sound of a dial tone, and a male voice coming through a speakerphone. It was her husband’s voice.

“Kill her,” he said, and Rukundo fainted.

She told the ABC that by the time she woke up in the strange building somewhere near Bujumbura, the kidnappers were still there.




They weren’t going to kill her, the men then explained — they didn’t believe in killing women, and they knew her brother.

But they would keep her husband’s money and tell him that she was dead. After two days, they set her free on the side of a road, but not before giving her a mobile phone, recordings of their phone conversations with Kalala, and receipts for the $7,000 in Australian dollars they allegedly received in payment, according to Australia’s The Age.

“We just want you to go back, to tell other stupid women like you what happened,”Rukundo said she was told before the gang members drove away.

Shaken, but alive and doggedly determined, Rukundo began plotting her next move.
